This day. It was a good one you guys.

Since we moved to Brooklyn a few years ago I have had so much fun exploring this borough πŸ˜‰ I’m even going to go out on a limb here and say it’s my favorite of NYC (and yes I have lived in Queens + Manhattan!) … So when A + J initially reached out and said they were getting married at Industry City, I was so (really, very) excited for the opportunity to shoot there!

They invited me to their apartment to meet up and look through albums/chat/etc and we hit it off immediately. I was basically 9 months pregnant with Kai and their daughter was 4 months old at the time, so our ‘meeting’ felt a bit more like friends catching up and chatting about life, work, living in Brooklyn, and babies!! These two were down to earth, honest, stylish, and oh so in love and I knew as soon as we hugged goodbye that this was a day I’d like to be a part of <3

Once their wedding rolled around ALL THE STARS ALIGNED. It was one of those gorgeous, crisp October days in the city and I couldn’t get over how beautifully the loft space at The Landing was transformed by Laura Remmert + Mimosa Floral’s teams!! This was a day full of celebration of love and family (because isn’t that what this is all about?!)… there were happy tears, deep belly laughs, kids running around, the most beautiful/artful details, and and intense feeling of JOY…

I had a blast going through Ashley + James’ images and am beyond excited to share some here!! Huge thanks to these two + their highly talented team of vendors for making this so much fun.

See more from this epic day featured on Carats + Cake!!

What a truly magical day from start to finish!! I didn’t actually meet Jeeah + Sang in person until the day of their wedding and basically the second we said hello I felt like I was about to spend the day with dear friends!! These two exude warmth and inclusion and made this whole experience so lovely <3

The Garland is definitely one of those gems hidden in plain sight. It looks fairly unassuming from the outside, but in reality is this very cool retro hotel with the most beautiful green oasis in the back, perfect for intimate celebrations πŸ™‚

We absolutely LOVED working with the sweet team behind Joyfully Co. and are so thrilled to share these images!!

This was the last wedding I shot before Kai was born (fellow photographers- I was a little over 34 weeks and actually felt great! However, I wouldn’t recommend shooting the last month if you can avoid it πŸ™‚ ) and man was this the most wonderful way to ease into maternity leave (again- fellow photographers I shot smaller assignments until 38ish weeks- if you are feeling good and strong, it’s totally doable!)…

Jackie and Mike couldn’t have been more fun to work with!! They just exuded joy and were so easy going and really excited for the photo portion of the day! We had the best time driving all over The West Village (in a gorgeous vintage cab!) and stopping at different locations that were special to them… this area of the city is always so amazing to photograph in/around, but these two and their positive energy made it one of our favorite experiences to date!

I know I say this every time, but Houston Hall is always such a treat to work at! The vibe of the space is such an incredible mix of beer hall + glam and always feels very downtown NYC to me πŸ™‚ Mix in the talents of Vision Event Co. and City Blossoms, and we had one truly stunning event to capture!

Sending all the love and thanks to Jackie + Mike for making this such an incredibly positive and beautiful experience! I can’t wait to see where this love-filled life takes you two!!!
